Features > 10 To Watch in 2006
• Arctic Monkeys

This is our bet for the band that seemingly comes out of no where and makes it big. Their major label debut is due in February and we expect big big things from these UK imports.

• Dashboard Confessional

2006 will mark the return of Chris Carrabba and Dashboard Confessional. The last we heard from DC was on the SpiderMan 2 soundtrack with the great "Vindicated." If that is any indication, this is a disc that can't be missed.

• Dramagods

Nuno Bettencourt's Population 1 has gone and changed its name. Their debut is currently being shopped around and their myspace page has a preview. No doubt we like what we hear and can not wait to hear the full deal as 2006 is looking to be a big year for Nuno.

• Fugees

The first track from this reunited rap outfit "Take it Easy" has already hit the airways. There is a lot of buzz on this one as it features Lauren Hill returning to reality and reuniting with Wyclef and Pras. Expect a full disc in early 2006.

• The Flaming Lips

April 4 sees the Flaming Lips return with At War With The Mystics. We have never seen the band live, but to say they are at the top of the list is an understatement.

• Matt Nathanson

2006 will see, hopefully not 1 but 2 new Matt Nathanson discs. Early 2006 will bring the live CD at the Point in Philadelphia from 2005. Matt has been writing and recording, and if he can get his lyrics all figured out, we should be seeing a new studio cd as well by the end of the year.

• Outkast

The last time we heard from them, they struck Grammy gold and 2006 will bring us the soundtrack to their long rumored film, Idlewild. What is this one going to sound like as Outkast is up there as far as bands that continue to push the envelope.

• The Panic Channel

We thought that 2005 would be their year, but 2006 is where its at. Writing & recording are done and the mastering process is underway. From what we have heard courtesy of Dave Navarro's Spread Radio, we can not wait.

• Pearl Jam

Pearl Jam are free. Finally done with their longterm deal with Epic records, Pearl Jam are free to do as they please. With a disc mostly done, will Pearl Jam, at age 40, still have the power to move?

• Radiohead

Rumors were around that 2005 would bring a new Radiohead disc, but those turned into the real news that Radiohead are back in the studio and we should be hearing from them middle of 2006.

• Chinese Democracy

Ha ha, we know we can't help ourselves. One would have to think that being beaten to the punch by his old bandmates in Velvet Revolver would light a fire under Axl and get this long awaited CD out on the shelves. But then again it has only been about 10 years, what’s another couple?
