We recently had a chance
to sit down with Tim Rice-Oxley & Richard Hughes, two-thirds
of Keane, THE band that has been breaking big the last year. Their
debut CD, Hopes and Fears, was #9 on our list of the
Best CDs of 2004 and have been showing no signs of slowing down.
We got to talk to Tim and Richard before their sold out show at
the Bank of America Pavilion in Boston. Give
a Listen* as we talk about about their growing fan
base, trading music online, as well as their upcoming show as
part of Live8.*Windows Media Player 9 is needed to listen to this
We first saw you about a year ago at the Paradise, now you are
headlining the Pavilion. How has this past year's rise to stardom
Some bands have had to deal with intrusive fans, are the Keane
fans that hungry for you guys that it has become intrusive?
With two members sitting down for the majority of the show, how
important has it been to hone your stage show?
How did you become part of the upcoming Live8?
The big threat to the music industry is the increasing number
of file sharing and CDs leaking before their release date? Do
you see that as a large problem?
I want to thank the guys of Keane for taking the time to talk
with me. It was great getting a chance to chat before the show
and they really blow you away live. Without a doubt, we are looking
forward to catching them again live. Keep your eye up for when
they come to your town.
